The session

A 2-hour pottery class session will guides you through the fundamental steps of throwing a pot on the wheel. In the first part, we will cover some essential theory and you will learn to prepare your clay. Following a detailed demonstration, you will then have the chance to create your own pieces.

Throwing is a messy business, remember to bring an apron and trim long nails as they can get in the way of your creative expression. There are more subsequent stages before a pot is fully finished. At the end of the session you will be asked to pick your favourite piece to be glazed/fired for you – which is included in the price and normally takes around 6 weeks.

Collections

The firing of 1 piece per person per taster. If you wish to fire any oversize pieces or multiple plates there is an additioanl charge of £10 per piece.

Please note that it can take up to 2 months for your pots to go through the final firing. Once they are ready for collection you will receive an email/text with further information. The studio doesn’t have the capacity to store work for longer than a month so we kindly ask that you pick up your creations as soon as possible

Refunds & Cancellations

Please appreciate that Pavlov Ceramics is a small independent studio and any timetable changes directly affect my ability to keep it running. Refunds and exchanges can be offered up to 2 weeks prior to the date of a taster or start of a course. On occasion I may be able to organise a make-up session for a missed class, however, I cannot guarantee that.
