Throwing Pottery Taster for 5 | 10th September, 5pm-7pm | £300

A 2-hour session, during which, we will guide you through the fundamental steps of the throwing process. In the first part, we will cover some of the essential theory and you will learn to prepare the clay. Following a detailed demonstration, you will then have the chance to create your own pieces on the wheel. The class takes place in my new studio in the Jewellery Quarter and is suitable for adults who are beginners or just want to try a new playful way of making.

Throwing is a messy business, remember to trim long nails and tie long hair back as they can get in the way of your creative expression. There are more subsequent stages before a pot is fully finished. If you would like to learn about trimming, slip decoration, glazing, and firing you can book a further session. Otherwise, any work that you complete during the taster will be glazed/fired for you and be ready for collection in 2 months’ time.
