Pottery Teacher

We are looking for a pottery teacher to join our team on a long-term basis. Previous teaching experience is desirable but we appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere – a wholesome attitude, good problem-solving skills, willingness to help others, as well as a strong sense of commitment, are more important than an extensive CV.

Candidates are expected to:

  • Be based in Birmingham or the West Midlands
  • Be self-employed and work on a freelance basis at £25 per hour
  • Have some flexibility in their working schedule
  • Teach regular weekly classes and occasional taster sessions
  • Have experience with both wheel-throwing and hand-building
  • Be kind, confident, patient, energetic

Additional training will be provided on studio-specific practices and teaching style but you will also be given the freedom to bring your own flair to the process.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, get in touch or send an application to chris@pavlovceramics.com including a short statement and examples of your work.

Studio Assitant

We are looking for an assistant to help with the day-to-day running of our studio space. Some experience or foundation in ceramics is required although comprehensive training will be provided at the start. You don’t need to be fully versed in the technical aspects of the process but a practical mind would help you thrive in this role.

Candidates are expected to:

  • Be based in Birmingham or the West Midlands
  • Be self-employed and work two days a week at £10 per hour
  • Have some flexibility in their working schedule
  • Have a hands-on approach and be prepared to carry out studio tasks that can be physically straining (e.g. wedging clay, moving pottery boards etc.)
  • Be kind, confident, reliable, energetic

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, get in touch or send an application to chris@pavlovceramics.com including a short statement and previous experience.
