Pottery classes in the heart of Birmingham
Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of clay while learning new skills, mindfully and at your own pace.

Pottery Taster Class
- Suitable for beginners
- All tools and materials will be provided
- The glazing and firing of your best piece is included
- 2 hour workshop
- £60 per person
- up to 6 people (get in touch for larger groups)
This workshop will guide you through the fundamental steps of throwing a pot on the wheel. In the first part, we will cover some essential theory and you will learn to prepare your clay. Following a detailed demonstration, you will then have the chance to create your own pieces.
Throwing is a messy business, we advise trimming long nails and tying back long hair as they can get in the way of your creative expression. At the end of the session you will be asked to pick your favourite piece to be glazed/fired for you, which normally takes around 8 weeks. The firing of additional pots is charged at £10 per piece.
Refunds & Cancellations
Please appreciate that Pavlov Ceramics is a small independent studio and any timetable changes directly affect our ability to keep it running. Refunds and exchanges can be offered up to 2 weeks prior to the date of a taster.
